Trunk or Treat 2007

Here they are at last! I know you've been waiting for them! We had a great time again this year at Trunk or Treat!
Daddy (Hotdog) & Caleb (Mustard)
Pops came to see Caleb all dressed up!
Pops bought Caleb a whole bag of M&M's and fed him some. Caleb will be hyped up on sugar for a very long time. Thanks Pops! :)
The Carroll family Hotdog stand. Daddy (hotdog), Caleb (mustard), Mommy (hotdog vendor).
Caleb & Daddy walking around to visit the other trunks.
My little mustard (minus his hat...it was too top heavy...but pretty cool anyway!)
There's the hat!

Can't wait till next year!

More cute pictures

Cute!
Cute!
I love this one! He was trying to touch the camera, and it looks like there is an alien finger floating in air. Priceless!
Taken when he was laying in my lap playing. I love little boys! So fun!
I caught this shot this past weekend. He ran to the door and acted like he was leaving. It was so darn cute!

Fun With Dad

I'm finally getting pictures off my camera (since I want my Halloween pictures), so there will be lots of picture posts today!
Caleb's newest favorite thing to do is read books! That's basically all he wants to do from the time we get home from school till he goes to bed. I really hope he keeps loving books since Daddy and I are such big book lovers.
More reading with Daddy!
Caleb has had great smiles lately! Sorry he has food in his mouth in this one, but I couldn't resist!
Another cute smile!

Sad

Isn't it sad that I'm going to take a vacation day this Friday in order to clean my house? And that I'm actually looking forward to it? How crazy is that!!

Trunk or Treat

I'll get pictures up here really soon! I've got some cute ones of my hot hotdog and cute little mustard.

Y'all are so nice to say you are missing my posts! It's nice to know people out there are reading!

Too Busy To Post

Well, I thought I should post something for my faithful readers out there.

I have been too busy to post over the past few days. We had another busy weekend. Chris was out of town, so Caleb and I got to hang out again together this weekend.

I'll post pictures and other fun stories later, but I just wanted you all to know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth.

Oh, and by the way! You all outdid (is that one word?) yourselves at Trunk or Treat last night! I was so impressed by all of the creative trunks. You took my threats seriously, and I am so proud of you all! I wound up not having enough time, energy, or creativity to pull off a win this year, but there's always next year! You all set such high standards this year. I might as well give up now! :)

Hope you're having a great day!

Sick Day for Caleb

Well, Caleb stayed home sick today with Daddy. He was fine last night before we put him to bed except for some coughing. Then he had a hard night (which means mom & dad had a hard night too - waking up every few minutes or so). Around 4AM, he was burning up, so I gave him tylenol and he went back to sleep. This morning at 6, he was miserable and cried forever. Chris stayed home with him and was going to take him to the doctor. But after he took a nap after I left for work, he has been fine ever since. Not sure what to do with him. So weird!

School Pumpkin Pictures

Caleb had pumpkin pictures at school yesterday. I finally got a picture with him smiling (with a photographer taking the picture - he smiles really goofy for me!)! Yesssss! I love these pictures!

Closed Captioning

Any time we have the tv on, we have closed captioning on. I like having the words on the screen in case I can't hear something real great. But the other day, I was reminded of how bad closed captioning is. Why can't they spell correctly? Why can't it be more on live time (words on the screen for what I'm actually reading)? Maybe it's harder than I think, but somehow I don't think it is. Maybe it's just not a huge priority for tv stations to get it right. It drives me nuts though, and it just almost makes me want to turn off CC. Get it right people!

Food Chopper, Etc.

I am so excited! I just got to use my new Pampered Chef food chopper for the first time. My brother's fiancee had a PC shower awhile back, and I got myself a food chopper. When we got married someone gave us a small food processor. I have never been able to figure out how to put it all together (I lost the instructions), and I really haven't had the energy to try really hard on it. But now that I have this way cool food chopper, I can get rid of the other thing!

I just made a cheese spread that looks soooo good! I can't wait to try it tomorrow at Amy's shower. So, RE ladies reading this, I recommend you come to the shower if not for the cheese spread alone! I happen to know there will lots of other yummy food there too! The greatest being one of Becky's yummy cakes!

I am so ready for Chris to come home. I love being with Caleb, but things are way more fun when Chris is around. Plus it's kind of nice to be able to run errands every once in awhile by myself. Oh, well. Chris will be home tomorrow after church, so all will be right with the world then.

I went with my brother & Lauren this afternoon to try on my bridesmaid dress for their wedding. There is a lady who is making all of the dresses. She is extremely talented to do what she does. I don't even know how to put the thread on my sewing machine (despite all of the times of my mom showing me!) But this lady's house was ridiculously full of dresses and material. She must do a TON of business because it was all over her house! That would drive me in sane! It drives me nuts that we always have a little stack of paper on the desk that I am currently typing at. It drives me nuts when Caleb's toys are all over the floor (but most of the time not enough to do anything about it for awhile). Anyway, I don't really have any reason for saying this. I was just thinking about it, and there is no one currently awake in my house to tell it to.

Well, good night! See you all at church tomorrow (and when you all come to eat a little - or a whole lot - of this yummy cheese spread!)

Tonight

Chris is at the Men's Retreat this weekend. So, while Daddy is away...Caleb and Mommy will play!

Besides all of the playing, we had an interesting 20 minutes around Caleb's bed time tonight. At 8, it sounded like a gun shot went off behind our house. I immediately popped up and turned the house alarm on. Then as I was putting Caleb to bed (8:20), another gun shot sound. So, I got to call 911 for the first time in my life. They put me through to the Sachse PD, and I found out it was only fireworks. I guess the police had figured out what the deal was after the first loud noise. There were probably others that called after the first loud noise. So, anyway, that made for an exciting 20 minutes or so.

Another Reason Why I'm an Idiot

We had to take our directory pictures at church last night. So after we were done, I wanted to change clothes...who wants to be in a dress all night if they don't have to (Who really ever wants to be in a dress?)? So I took Caleb with me in the bathroom to change clothes.

This morning it hit me.

Idiot! I said. Why did you not go in the handicapped stall?

You see, I fought my 15 month old in a tiny, tiny stall. Trying to change clothes, keep him from touching the toilet, keeping him from crawling out of the stall. I think things would have been much easier if I would have just gone to a bigger stall.

I'll know better next time.

Is It Bad?

Is it bad to use the word "Anal" around a bunch of church employees? If so, oops!

Vision or Just Late Night Chicken?

Ok, you may all think I am crazy and losing it, but last night I had a dream, and this morning when I woke up I was sure that it must have been a vision from God. Maybe I dreamt it because it has been on my mind lately. Maybe, maybe, maybe... But I don't really think so. I think it was something that I needed to hear.

So, do you think I'm crazy? :)

Texas Accent?

I am in a workshop all week for work which has been great so far! There is a guy in the workshop from Guam. Yesterday he told me that I have a strong Texas Accent and then started mimicking me. I didn't realize that I had such a bad accent, but I guess I do. Now I'm paranoid when I talk. :)

Have you ever had anyone tell you that you had a strong Texas/Southern accent?

Trip to Owens Farm

Mom just stuck me in this big pile of orange balls! How cool!
Look at me mom! I love pumpkins!
The cutest pumpkin in the row.
Here, lamby lamby!
These birds are so cool!

The Bad thing about a busy weekend...

is that I feel like I need another day of the weekend in order to get my house, life, etc. back in order for the week. No such luck though! It's back to the grindstone! :)

Have a great week everybody!

White Rock Art Tour Update

Ok, so mom and I went to the art tour this afternoon, and it is really, really neat. If you are sitting around bored tomorrow, you should check it out. We saw lots of really cool art of many different styles and now we are all pumped up to be artists ourselves!!

I've never been to the Lakewood area around White Rock, but it is so cool! It is like an art neighborhood (has the feel of homes in Austin), and they even have signs in their front yards that say "Keep Lakewood Funky." Pretty neat. I kind of wish I lived in a neighborhood that was "funky." Woodbridge frowns on "funky." No, Woodbridge would never approve of much of what I saw there today. Darn!

Anyway, we also went to Owen's Farm this morning, so I have lots of great pumpkin pictures to put on here. So, keep watch! They will appear very soon!

RSS Feeds

Ok, blog friends! Do any of you use RSS feeds to see when other "bloggers" have posted a new post? Chris and I were having a discussion over this the other night, and I thought I'd throw the question out there to see if anyone uses them (or is thinking about using them).

I think some of you must use feeds (or else you just have ESP or something to know when I post) because I get comments almost immediately after I have posted.

So, anyway, discuss on!

Free Gift Wrap

Don't you wish Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc. had free gift wrapping at the front of the store like Babies 'R Us has? That would be so great!

I have a bunch of showers to go to in the near future, so gift wrapping is on my mind!

**UPDATE**
After going to the shower, I realized BB&B had gift wrapping. There were a TON of presents wrapped from there.

Motherly Love

I have been thinking lately how great a mother's/parent's love for a child is. Before having Caleb, I could not fathom it. But now sometimes I sit there holding him, or looking at him, or just thinking about him, and I am overwhelmed with love for him.

Sometimes I think my next kid will be shortchanged. They won't have all of the one-on-one time that we have had with Caleb, and I sure won't have all of the time to just devote to that one child. It kind of makes me sad. But I'm sure it'll be better than I think!

Aren't kids great!!

More Camping Pictures from this Weekend

Here are more pictures from our weekend of camping. This was Caleb's first experience in tent camping, thus it was mom & dad's first tent experience with Caleb. There is a difference! My hair was majorly crazy (you know, camping in a tent and all) all weekend, so excuse the pictures of me! We had a great time and are looking forward to much more camping fun in the future!

My Boys

Boy howdy, I do love my boys!
We climbed Mt. Baldi at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge on Saturday. These pictures were taken at the top. (We forgot Caleb's "papoose", so Chris carried Caleb all the way up the mountain! My hero!)

White Rock Studio Art Tour

The White Rock Studio Art Tour (click on the logo for their website) is a group of about 45 artists that open up their personal studios to the public for the weekend and let you traipse around through their backyards, studios, etc. to see their art.

My mom has been raving about this art tour for a few years, and it is this weekend! It looks like it is even free!

I have heard great things about all of the interesting artwork and really, really cool backyards that you get to see.

My mom and I are going to go either Saturday or Sunday or both this weekend.

I have been thinking for a long time that I would like to do some kind of art. I've done the music thing (majored in music in college). I have crocheted and made some pretty cool blankets. But now I am thinking I would like to paint...or make sculptures out of something weird...or....or...or. The possibilities are endless! So I can't wait to see other people's cool art so that maybe I can get an idea of what my art form will be.

A couple of years ago, Chris and I went to Taos, NM for our anniversary. While we were there, we went through all of the art studios downtown, and we saw the coolest painting ever! We both instantly loved it and thought it would be perfect for our house. Too bad it was like $1000 or we would have bought it. But ever since then, I have been thinking that I could create something kind of like that. It wouldn't be nearly as cool probably, but I would like to take a stab at it. So, we'll see! Someday I just might be in the Studio Art Tour too!

The Best Feeling in the World...or Close to it

Taking a shower after you have been camping and haven't been near running water in 2-3 days. A little piece of heaven!

Well, Maybe If You Had a Gift Basket

Okay Office fans, something just happened in the church office straight off the show last night!

Two office supply guys just walked in. We have had some bad experiences with their company, so we no longer use them. So they threw their pitch and talked about how they can help us and win back our trust in their company.

The whole time they were here, I was trying so hard not to crack up. I wanted to tell them, "Well, maybe if you had a gift basket, we'd try your company again!" I really wish I had the guts to say it, but I didn't. Maybe next time!

Caleb's 2007 School Pictures

Check out Caleb's school pictures for this year. The kid won't smile when he is taking pictures for other people, and he kind of has the deer in the headlights look, so I can't wait to see what our pictorial directory picture for church is going to look like!

I am going to buy one of the pictures with me in it for Chris to have at work. Which one do you think is better?

Bring Your Best Game to Trunk or Treat!

Oh my goodness! I just ordered a costume for a member of the Carroll family to wear to Trunk or Treat, and I am soooo excited! I have been racking my brain for a few weeks trying to figure out what the family was going to be this year, and I've finally got it! So bring your A-game, folks!! The Carrolls are going to be hard to beat again this year! :)

Caleb Update

Well, Caleb is doing somewhat better. They said he has been fussy at school today, but at least he is not throwing up anymore. Hopefully we will have a good night and that he will feel all better tomorrow. It's amazing how many people have gotten this virus. It is spreading like crazy. I guess it's that time of year.

We've Been Hit

Well it looks like my family has been hit with the yucky stomach virus that has been going around. Caleb got sick twice at school today, so Chris had to come on his day off (Fair Day) to pick him up. I sure hope it doesn't last long and that Chris and I do not get it.

Happy Bueno Day!

For all who enjoy the great tastes of Taco Bueno, there is much celebration going on in Sachse/North Garland today! The new Bueno on 78 opens today! As I drove by this morning, there was a car in the drive thru picking up breakfast. Chris and I drove behind it the other day when we went to the store, and there are two drive thru lines. Pretty cool! I figure it is going to be pretty packed for a month or so at least, so I probably won't be visiting it until things slow down a little. Also, Chris and I are going to try to start eating better starting today, so I don't think Taco Bueno quite qualifies as healthy food. But I am excited that there is a Bueno close by now! Woo hoo!

What a Difference Fair Day Makes

Today is Fair Day for Garland ISD, so the roads were very clear this morning. As I was crossing the second stop light, was driving 50 mph and hadn't had to stop yet I remembered, "Oh yeah! Fair Day! Oh, yeah! That is why Chris was still in bed when I left the house!"

I know I've blogged about this before, but it is amazing how much of a difference there is when school is not in session. It makes for a great drive to work!

A Great Weekend So Far

Man, have we had a good weekend so far. Chris blogged about today being a great day, and that got me thinking that I have had a great weekend so far.

Last night, we went to Mesquite and joined my parents for dinner at Pizza Getti in Dallas. Pizza Getti is the best pizza ever! My dad grew up going there, so it is special to our family. But if you like pizza, you will love this place!! It is a little whole-in-the-wall place (which are normally the best places to got eat). It is on Buckner Rd. in Dallas, so look it up and go!

Then after dinner, we went back and watched some of Casey's church videos that he makes and are really funny! He does such a good job on them. Then we watched three episodes of 24 that we record to watch with mom and dad. It took my awhile to wrestle the alligator (Caleb) to sleep on the couch, but I finally got him down.

Then this morning, we went to the Predisan walk. It was so much fun! It was great weather, and it was so nice talking to people that I don't normally get the chance to talk to that often. Oh, and I also won two serving dishes in the silent auction, so that was exciting too!

Then we (Chris, Caleb and me) went for lunch at San Francisco Oven. We sat outside and enjoyed the great weather, the atmosphere and just being with each other.

Next we went on a big grocery trip to stock up on things since we hadn't been on a big store run in a long time.

Then I took a nap with Caleb this afternoon after we got home, and after we got up we cleaned an old bookshelf that we got from Chris' grandfather's house and then loaded our books into it.

Tonight, Chris made dinner and we've spent time playing around the house.

Tomorrow is church and the chocolate festival at church. What's not to love about this weekend!!

A Temptation Too Great

There is now a big deal of candy corn in the church office...one of my favorite candies ever! The temptation is too great to bear!

So if you come to church and only see a container of peanuts and no candy corn in the office, you know where it went.

Want to Go for a Walk?

Come to the Walk for Predisan tomorrow morning at Naaman Forest High School. Registration starts at 8 AM or you can register online here, and the walk starts at 9 AM. It is $20 to register. It should be lots of fun, so come and walk!

The Office Season Premiere

Okay, so if you watched The Office last night, tell me what you thought were the funniest moments.

Here are some we've talked about in the church office this morning:
  • When Dwight kills Angela's cat by sticking it in the freezer.
  • When Michael carbo-loads before the race.
  • When the race ends 5K away from the office.
  • When Kevin is talking about the fact that Jim & Pam must be dating.
  • When Michael hits Meredith with his car.

The list could go on and on, so keep it coming! Let's hear what you liked about the new episode!

A Must Try!

If you haven't tried Claussen's Kosher Dill Pickles, you need to go right now and get some! They are totally delicious, and just thinking about them is making my mouth water right now!

My mom always bought these when I was a kid, and I couldn't find them in our Kroger until a few weeks ago.

They are in the deli/refrigerated section of the store, so they are not on the pickle aisle. Because they are kept in the deli section and thus do not have all of the preservatives that other pickles have, they are very fresh and crisp and have a wonderful flavor.

So I recommend picking some up today! I only have one left at home, so I need to get more too!

Just a Quick Poll

How many of your fathers made you listen to Ray Stevens songs as a child? Mine sure did.

And then he gave me a cd of his greatest hits a few Christmases ago which we actually listen to sometimes! I have to admit, they are pretty funny. And it's fun remembering my dad getting a kick out of them when I was a kid (or recently!)

My Recent Purchases from Craigslist

This is the slide that I bought for Caleb on Friday night. I decided it was time to get some fun stuff for the backyard so that we could spend some time out there. I got this for really, really cheap, and it looks great! It was $100 off the normal price! So excited!!
Then I got this picnic table on Saturday morning. It'll be fun to have over the years. I would love to have people over when the weather is cooler and have cookouts, parties, etc. and Caleb will have his own cool table!

Caleb's First Trip to the ER

Saturday was an extremely busy day for us.

I had a flute lesson from 9-10:30. Then I drove to McKinney to pick up a child size picnic table. Then almost as soon as I got home, Chris was going to take Caleb upstairs to take a nap. Chris was holding his hand (and Caleb was laughing his head off). Then Caleb decided to sit down all of a sudden (which he started doing this last week a whole lot) and Chris felt something in Caleb's arm pop. Caleb starting crying immediately.

So we quickly packed everything up to take him to the doctor.

We went to Care Now first...they had a 3 1/2 hour wait.

Then we went to PrimaCare...they had a 2 hour wait and told me to just take him to the ER.

So, off to the Richardson Regional ER we went.

He wound up having Nursemaid Elbow - where the elbow becomes dislocated. It took them a long time to be able to get it back in, and we wound up having to have x-rays done to make sure what the deal was since it wasn't going back in.

They were about to put a sling on his arm, but then he started moving it a little so we didn't have to.

Poor Caleb was still in pain yesterday morning and didn't want to move it. By last night he was using it like normal and wrestling in the floor with me like normal. This morning, he didn't use it at first, but within about 15 minutes of him waking up, he was using it fine.

It is such a miserable feeling when your kid is hurt and you can't do anything about it. I hope we don't have anymore visits to the ER with him, but I have a feeling that we probably will.

More Random Thoughts

  • Isn't it interesting that there are some buildings where restaurants, businesses, etc. just can't make it? I know there are plenty of buildings in Mesquite (where I grew up) that seemed like they would be decent locations for restaurants, but nothing could ever stay open there. This aways has baffled me. Is it just because people know that nothing can ever make it there...so they don't ever go? Weird.
  • Well, the other day, I was telling Lindsay that Caleb doesn't throw any fits. I should never say things like that because this week, guess what! He started throwing fits! He throws a fit when I put him in the car (crying, screaming, trying to scooch out of the seat, flailing legs...the whole bit). Then there have been numerous times over the last few days that he refuses to stand up. He does the limp leg bit. He just wants to lay on the ground and fuss. Maybe this is the terrible two's stage a little early. Hopefully it is just a stage. :)
  • I have grown to love Craigslist over the past few days. I went to Kid to Kid on Monday looking for some backyard climbers, slides, etc. but they didn't have any. I ran into a friend that I grew up going to church with (how strange is it to see people that you haven't seen in forever...to recognize them...and the fact that you saw them no where near where you used to live) and she told me that probably my best bet for something that specific would be to look on craigslist. So I did. I have emailed a few different people, and they had already sold the items, but I finally found one that still had it. I am going over there this afternoon when I leave work to look at it and probably buy it. I can't wait for Caleb to have something to climb around on in the backyard! We never spend time out there, but I am ready to now that it is getting cooler out in the evenings. I also have sent an email to someone about a kids' picnic table for the backyard too. Keep your fingers crossed that they haven't sold it yet! The way I figure it, Caleb isn't going to use this stuff for an extremely long time (like a big swingset later), so I don't want to spend an arm and a leg for this stuff. The stuff I'm looking at is REALLY, REALLY cheap, so that makes it even more exciting! So, yay for www.craigslist.com!!!

Random Thoughts

  • I can't tell you how relieved I am to know that I'm not the only one who is crummy at doing laundry and who leaves laundry laying on a couch or chair for extended amounts of time. Now, I'm not proud of this one bit. I am really ashamed of myself that I do this, but I've been going around thinking that I am the only one in the world that does this for the past 4 1/2 years of marriage. Now that I know that I'm not the only one, I feel so much better about myself!
  • I'm trying to drum up business for RETOOL at church tomorrow night but specifically the Fit Kids class. I encourage everyone to come, and if you want to be cool like me, come to Fit Kids!
  • Is anyone else totally jazzed up about The Office starting back up? I can't wait!
  • Ok, when I think of more, I'll post them on here. For now, that's all.

Comic Relief

Yesterday afternoon, I was a little stressed. I had had a really busy day and I had a bunch to do before book club and things on my mind.

As Caleb and I were driving home, I was handing him cookies since he is normally starving and extremely thirsty when I pick him up. I had already handed him a few cookies which he had quickly eaten. So as I was handing him another cookie, he kicked my hand and the cookie went flying across the backseat of the car. It looked really impressive how far it went for a little kick.

All of a sudden, Caleb started cracking up laughing...which made me start cracking up laughing. So there we were...cracking up laughing together! Then every time I looked back at him, he start cracking up again.

It was such a great moment and made me immediately feel better. Kids are so great!

Reading Update

Well, I finished the book last night! Halleluiah!

I started it on Saturday night and read about half of it, continued reading some during Caleb's nap time, and then finished it last night.

Now I'm ready to start another book that I borrowed from Becky.

I always have a large stack of books that I am wanting to read. It's interesting how the order of this stack changes all of the time. I can plan on reading the next book in line, but then I can find another one that I want to read first.

Man, don't you just LOVE books!

Gone Are The Days...

That I can spend all weekend reading a book that I have to read at the last minute. Yep, book club girls, I haven't touched the book yet, and I still have to finish We Were the Mulvaney's before I can start the new book.

I used to could just sit around and read all day or all weekend if I wanted. But now with Caleb, those days are looong gone. The only time I can read is when he is asleep, so that means not much sleep for me (and you all know how much I LOVE sleep!)

So, ready, set, GO on the reading this weekend!

Things Caleb Will Eat Now

Part of me feels dumb for being excited about this because my kid should have been eating "people food" a whole lot earlier than he was. But then the other part of me is jumping for joy with every small success we have! Go Caleb!

Here is what he will eat now:
Whole Green Beans
Chicken Fingers/Nuggets
Corn
Chicken spaghetti (at school yesterday)
Muffins
Cookies
Crackers
Thick mashed potatoes
Waffles

The list is still small, but it is HUGE compared to what he used to eat (a week ago)!

How to Get a 1 Yr Old to Sit Still in Church Service

Feed him/her as many cookies and juice as he/she wants.

Most of you know this already, but I'm so serious...it works! Caleb kept a cookie in his mouth pretty much the whole time at church last night. There were a few breaks for juice. It made for a nice evening of not worrying about chasing him around the church or worrying about him screaming in the middle of the service.

So next Wednesday night, we'll pack more cookies!

Random Pictures

Caleb and "Pops" hanging out at Dairy Queen eating ice cream together...their favorite thing to do together.
Another ice cream shot. Caleb is savoring the sugary, creaminess.
Yes!!! We finally got this rotten kid to eat something this weekend! First a green bean and then a chicken finger on Sunday at lunch. You would have thought he won the nobel prize for all of the celebrating we have done!
This is my new dress. When I saw it in an ad, I knew it was meant for me. It is my #1 favorite dress right now!

How Caleb Gets New Clothes

This all happened last Friday night....

3:45 - drink a sippy cup of juice on the way home from school

4:30 - drink a 6 oz. bottle of milk

6:00 - at dinner, drink a kid's cup of fruit punch

6:45 - mom and dad get up to leave dinner and realize Caleb is soaked

6:50 - in the car, strip Caleb down and realize we don't have any more clothes in his bag (he had to use the extra clothes at school today)

6:52 - mom and dad discuss - "Well, we need to go to Walmart anyway, which is just across the street to get Pit Stop stuff. I know, why don't I go in and get him a new outfit and then we can go in and shop for Pit Stop stuff."

Then mom finds a super cute basketball outfit in Walmart with mesh shorts and also wind pants to go along with it.

That is how Caleb got new clothes on Friday night.

Emails From Dad

When I was in college, my dad would send me the silliest emails. I really, really wish I had printed them out so that I could look back on them and have a copy for blackmail purposes!

My dad started signing out of all of his emails like "Loves ya bunges." He always has to have a different way of doing things. :)

Then there was one email where the whole thing went like this:

I went to the store. Yeah, I did. I got some grapes. Yeah, I did. I think I'm going to mow the lawn. Yeah, I do. etc, etc, etc.

It had me cracking up for a good while. I know there were many, many other silly emails, but I just don't remember how they all went. So, I wish I would have printed them out so that I could look back and laugh.

And I look forward to the day when Caleb is off at college (well, really I don't) and I can send him silly emails to make him laugh too! And I'm sure "Pops" will be sending him silly emails too!

High School Musical

I watched both of the movies the weekend the second movie came out because I wanted to see what all the hype was about.

Chris and I just watched both of them the past few nights again since he hadn't seen them yet.

Here's my question: which movie did you like (or think was) better if you saw them?

Chris and I discussed them last night and pointed out the good qualities of both. I like the second movie better because it is more high-impact, more group dancing, and the dancing seems better than the first. I have heard from some people that they liked the first one better though.
What do you think?

Great Tunes

Last night as I was running, I was listening to my mp3 player. Awhile back I went through all of my old cds and put all the songs on there that had upbeat tempos that would be good to run to. I haven't reached the end of the songs on there yet. But last night, I got to the Jars of Clay songs.

Now, these are cds from when I was in middle school and high school, but the music on those cds are GREAT! While running, I was singing my head off (while huffing and puffing). I think the lyrics of their songs are so great, and the music and harmonies seem genius to me. It even got me thinking about writing music again (not that I've written any, but I've thought about it before).

I'm not sure if I like these songs so much just because I knew them way back when, or if I heard them now for the first time I would like them just as much. But all I know is that I had a blast last night running to some of my old favorites.

It made it a good run.
