My Weekend/Friday

My lifelong friend, Megan, got married this weekend. I will have a series of posts throughout today and possibly tomorrow that show in pictures our weekend. We had a blast and are so happy for Megan and Brian!

That morning, I dropped Caleb off an hour earlier than I really needed to so that I could go shopping in Southlake where we were eating lunch. There was a Central Market across the street from the mall that the Cheesecake Factory was in, so I went there to check it out since I've always heard how great it is. As soon as I walked in, I thought the vegetables were so pretty! They looked so fresh and so pretty that I had to take a few pictures! I'm sure the people shopping in the store thought I was crazy, or an inspector or something, but oh well! I was really impressed with the store. I just wish we had one close to my house. Maybe I'll have to suggest that to them. I'm not going to drive a long way to go to one, but maybe I'll go to one someday for a special occasion. Two thumbs up for Central Market!

After all my shopping, I met the girls at the Cheesecake Factory for a bridal lunch. This is me with Megan, the bride. We stuffed ourselves silly with great food , their awesome mango tea and cheesecake!
This is at the rehearsal dinner. Chris had me cracking up because he thought my mom was taking a picture of our crotches in one of the pictures she took of us (keeping reading...) Brett (Megan's brother) thought it was all funny too, so we took a silly shot of us three together.
Me and Chris actually taking a serious picture for once...
This is the picture that my mom took that looked like she was pointing the camera at our crotches. I got this outfit at Kohl's that morning. I really, really like the shirt...and hey, the pants too!

We had so much fun on Friday! When I saw Chris that afternoon, I went on and on about how great our lunch was. Then my mom and I went and got our nails done...always a great treat! Then I went shopping for some things I needed that I have to go to Mesquite for. The rehearsal went great that night, and we had a blast at the dinner. I had been looking forward to this wedding for a long time! Megan is so fun, and she has been looking forward to this day for a really, really long time, so it made it so exciting!

Saturday's post is coming up soon!

Caleb's First Splash Day

Today was Caleb's first Splash Day at school. Mommy was worried that he wouldn't want to participate at all. She gave him big pep talks about it on the way to school, and when she dropped him off, Caleb said he was going to play with water today.

Mommy had Mrs. Marcie go take a few pictures of him on his first Splash Day. This one actually shows that he is letting water hit him! It was a success of a Splash Day!

I love his new swimsuit! But it really needs a drawstring. I have the skinniest 2 year old (his birthday is next Friday!) ever, so I figured it would be too big. I was right. But he is so darn cute in it with his little water shoes!

The Genius of Target...

is the Dollar Spot. I went there today to get a few things, and I spent $5 extra from things in that section. What genius it is to throw extremely cheap things out there just so people spend more money! I know I fall into their trap. Do you?

A Couple of Thoughts

  • Last night, my dad and Chris began putting up Caleb's swingset that is his present from my parents for his birthday. Caleb was so darn cute copying everything that Daddy and Poppy were doing. He had to pretend like he had a tool belt when Daddy and Poppy put theirs on...he put a tool in his shorts. Then when Daddy gave him a tool, he went around to all of the screws that they had put in and acted like he was screwing them in. So darn cute!!
  • I just downloaded Google Earth this morning. I needed to print something for somebody, and man, it is so cool! I have heard about it for awhile, but I never went to look at it. If you haven't seen it, go look now!

No Sleep From 1:00 On

Caleb is a scaredy cat like I always was. So when the thunderstorm started last night, I knew it was a matter of time before he woke up. The problem is that he is normally so scared there is no way he is going back to sleep on his own. He will go back to sleep if he gets to sleep with us though, so the few times this has happened, that's what he gets to do. So at 1:00 last night, he came to bed with me. And from 1:00 on, mommy didn't get hardly anymore sleep. I tried to keep him on my side of the bed so that he wouldn't wake Chris up (since Chris was up with him last night since he had a bad dream). Caleb laid right beside me giving me about 6 inches (literally!) of the bed to sleep on and kept kicking me all night. At one point, I scooted down below him in the bed to see if I could sleep that way. No such luck. I have a busy day and evening planned, so no napping for me either. Maybe we'll all sleep really good tonight!

Update: We all got a full night's sleep last night. When Chris and I woke up this morning, Chris said that it felt like much later in the morning...because we hadn't had to deal with Caleb during the night or early in the morning. So nice!

A Big Mess

On the way back from picking up lunch, I spilled coke on my shirt.

Now someone just pointed out to me that I have pollen on the back of my shirt. I threw out some flowers a little while ago, and somehow I got pollen on the back of my shirt.

I wonder what else I can get on my shirt today!

A Look Back Into Blog Posts of the Past

This morning, I went back and looked at some of my first blog posts. It was interesting to look back and see what I was doing almost two years ago. And it was even more interesting to look back on the pictures from that time. I can't believe Caleb was that small! :) He's a silly toddler now, and it was so fun to look back at the pictures of him when he was 3 months old, 4months old, etc. They grow up so fast...

Caleb stands with his hands behind his back all of the time. This is not a great picture of it since his mouth is all weird, but it's so cute that he stands that way most of the time.

Come to the Party!

Looking for something so fun you can't stand it tonight? Want to come to a school's out party? Come to Splash at Richardson East! I went outside earlier to get a sneak peek, and it looks stinkin' fun! I can't wait! And I hope you get to come too! 7:00-8:30 in the east parking lot of RE. See you there!

Pictures from Saturday Night

I wanted to take a few pictures, and of course, as soon as I said that, Caleb had to be involved! He wore these sunglasses all day and all night on Saturday. Silly kid!
Me about to go to Megan's party
Caleb sitting on the stairs looking cute. Yes, he has no pants on. That's what happens when you drink a whole heck of a lot of juice and then pee all over your clothes. Mom finally gives up and just lets you run around in diapers. :)
Silly smile

Pictures from the Zoo

A Night at the Comedy Club

On Saturday night, I went to Improv in Addison with some friends. I had never been to a comedy club before, but I have always wanted to go to one. Here are my observations from the night:

  1. First joke of the night = non-smoking seating. Really. The people at the box office must have gotten a big laugh about this. We were told we would be in the non-smoking section....which turned out to be our table. There were people at the table next to us (almost touching me) that were smoking.
  2. I thought I was prepared for the language that I was going to hear. Afterall, I've seen comedy shows on tv. And watched movies. And tv. And I've heard some bad language in my days. I wasn't quite prepared. The first guy wasn't funny at all, so it was like he had to make up for it by cussing every other word. And they weren't just little cuss words...they were the big daddy ones. Really, unecessary. The next lady was pretty funny, but again...too much bad language. It really is a shame that they feel that they have to resort to bad language to make people laugh. Just make us laugh without it! The head liner was great! And yes, there was a little bit of bad language but nothing like the first two. It took him quite awhile during his show to say something bad, and I was thinking he was not going to stoop that low. Of course he did, but it wasn't anywhere near as bad.
  3. Improv is across the hall from a piano bar. On the way in it wasn't too crowded yet. But you could see the girls coming out to go to the restroom. And oh my goodness! It was unreal the way they were dressed! Then when we were leaving, the line to get in the club was all the way down the stairs and around the building. And it was 11:00 at night! Way past my bedtime!! I have never really had the desire to go clubbing. Yes, I did go a few time to Jitterbugs to dance in college. But that was Nacogdoches. And really not the same thing. And yes, I did have fun. But it really wasn't the same thing...at all. But right then and there, seeing the maddness that was that club, I was thankful that I was never into that scene. I'm glad I didn't have to resort to clubbing to get a date. Or to have a good time. It just really isn't for me. Call me a nerd...I've been called much worse. I'm glad I'm a nerd!
  4. It seemed like most of the people there were already drunk by the time the show started. And it started at 9:00.
  5. Comedy club Coca-Cola doesn't taste all that good. I don't think they really care though.

Overall, I had a great time, and I did laugh myself silly a few times. I would love to go with Chris sometime, or it would be fun to go with a group of people of say three couples so that you could get a table all to yourselves.
