Too Girlie?

UPDATE: The people have spoken! The boy needs the kitchen! Plus I need him to learn how to cook from a very early age!

Ok, I need your opinion.

I really think Caleb would love a play kitchen. He's played with the food before at school, etc., and I just think he would love it! When I told my mom, her immediate reaction was "Isn't that too girlie?"

So, what do you think?

What if we get one that doesn't look all girlie? One that is not pink...maybe green or something.

If you really think it is too girlie, let me know. Really. I can take it. But I just might get one anyway!

This is my opinion...get him one if he would like it! What's wrong with a boy playing with a kitchen? All of my nephews love to play with them too. Hey, boys like food, right?

i bet josh, jordan, and jon would take offense to the statement that being in the kitchen is girly!
ava's play kitchen is cranberry and hunter green colored. it does not look girly. i say get him one- play cooking is a lot of fun for everyone! nate plays with ava's kitchen all the time.

I had the same comment as Becky in mind when I read your blog... Josh definitely doesn't think being in the kitchen is girlie! I would certainly aim to get one that isn't in all pastel colors (pinks and such), but otherwise, get the kitchen for him!!!! Great idea!

The world's best chefs are male. Get him what he wants.

At our house if Caleb's Uncle Marcus didn't cook there would be no meals! If he wants a kitchen you should get him one.

Caleb's daddy and Uncles Don & Marcus had their own wooden play kitchen with neat play food from the time Chris was walking until we donated it to Headstart when Marcus was about 4. They loved it! Why do you think they are all three such good cooks today...they watched and helped their dad & mom cook and then imitated it in their kitchen. Caleb's Gramps is as good a cook as Grammie. The boys in my kdg classes always loved playing in the kitchen center. I think Caleb would LOVE his very own kitchen!

I plan to get a play kitchen for JD as soon as he is old enough!! We will probably avoid the pink ones, but I have seen some great ones with red appliances! I can't wait to see my sweet boy cooking up some play eggs & bacon!
