On Tuesday night, I saw my 7th grade choir director at dinner. This guy was only my teacher for that one year, and I was just a quiet, nerdy little 7th grader that never talked. I should have not been memorable in any way. I just blended into the surroundings.
But when I saw him, he immediately recognized me. I haven't seen the man in 15ish years, and he recognizes me? That is some kind of good memory.
I'm always amazed when I see teachers from long ago and they always remember me. I guess I don't look that different than I did when I was in middle school. Now that's a scary thought!!
I will probably be the bad teacher that never remembers her old kids. Every once in awhile, I run into some of my old kids and so far I have been able to recognize them. That doesn't mean I always remember their names, but it's been amazing at how fast their names pop back in my head when I see them most of the time.

I love running into past students and finding out what they are doing...does kinda make one feel "old" tho, especially when I taught kdg and they are in their 20's or 30's! It's cool that he remembered you...probably because he recognized your talent and virtues rather than your outward appearance...hey, you're unforgetable in my book!! love u :)
